    Practice your passion as a (COTA) Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, where your skills are appreciated and developed every day. As a COTA in our hospitals you will be working along side with highly skilled rehabilitation staff and assist a trained critical care nursing team. You will be taking care of patients that truly needs you; to get weaned off of respirators, walk on their own and regain the full use of their other functions. Select Specialty and Regency Hospitals care for patients who are critically ill and need extended acute hospitalization for their recovery. We are currently seeking Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for both full-time and PRN shifts.     As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will provide services under the general supervision of the OT, including assessment, treating patients, delivering home programs, patient and family instruction, participating in team conferences and documenting services according to departmental and facility standards.


    Other responsibilities of the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) position include:

    • Conducts Individual patient therapy regimens under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist (OT).
    • Monitors patient's response to treatment and modifies treatment during sessions as indicated in collaboration with an OT
    • Participates in the team process, consults and collaborates with team members and staff
    • Completes appropriate documentation according to department policies and procedures.
    • Ensures documentation of progress notes and daily notes are completed within given timeframe
    • Participates in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-services

    Qualification/Must have:

    • NBCOT accreditation and COTA state license
    • BLS required
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
    • Strong ability to communicate, teach and instruct patients and their families
