    We currently have an opening for a Home Health Billing Specialist.

    Responsibilities

The Home Health Coder exists to coordinate the data collection on the Home Health Outcome and Assessment Set (OASIS).  Ensures the presence of supporting documentation and provides staff education to ensure compliance with CMS guidelines.  Coordinates all efforts for immediate issue resolution concerning CMF scoring and calculating the HHRG.

    Employees in this position will:

    1. Coordinates all areas of Clinical, Medical & Functional (CMF) score capture and supportive documentation for the completion of the Outcome and Assessment Set (Home Health OASIS).
    2. Reviews medical records to assure that clinical documentation supports CMF scores. Confers with the clinical team members regarding the scoring of OASIS items to assist in resolution of any inconsistencies.
    3. Reviews medical records and confers with medical staff members to assure that co-morbidities are properly identified and documented in the medical record.
    4. Confers with the clinical team members regarding the scoring of OASIS items, follows up on any inconsistencies.
    5. Reviews all Rehabilitation Impairment Categories and admission ICD-10 codes to assure congruence and proper Coding for the OASIS and CMS 485. Makes any necessary changes in collaboration with the clinical team and physician.
    6. Works directly with clinical department to focus on documentation trends and corrective action to assure that the Medical Record documentation supports the OASIS documentation.
    7. Based on medical record review, assists in compiling data, tracking trends, and provides feedback to the clinical team regarding documentation, including providing input as to staff training needs.
    8. Create and Edit CMS 485 in home health software to include all orders as it pertains to the patient.
    9. Perform other duties as requested.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Skills, Knowledge & Abilities (including licensure, certification and other job-related credentials)

    1. High School Diploma.
    2. Minimum of two (2) years of previous coding and OASIS review experience in a Home Health setting required.
    3. Must have a positive attitude, cooperate and deal well with others.
