    Director of Plant Operations

     

     

    At Select Rehabilitation Hospital our services have been designed for patients who need a longer rehabilitation hospitalization for their recovery. We are currently seeking a Director of Plant Operations to join our team.

     

    Select Medical’s Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospitals provide advanced treatment and comprehensive care to best address the medical, physical, emotional and vocational challenges for individuals with:

    Responsibilities

    The Director of Plant Operations is responsible for the overall operation of the facility management inclusive of administrative and technical operation.  Manages the Housekeeping and Security Departments to ensure safe operating conditions in compliance with all state, federal and accrediting agencies at assigned campus.  Utilizing effective planning, organizing, directing, coordinating and control mechanisms. The Director of Plant Operations ensures that efficient and effective services are provided while enhancing attainment of individual personnel and hospital objectives. 

    Qualifications

    • Plans, directs, and supervises all administrative and technical aspects of the Plant Operations Department related to building, plant, and grounds maintenance and safety and the EVS Department related to housekeeping and floor maintenance.
    • Responsible for all department personnel management decisions in respect to interviewing, hiring, orienting, training, evaluating, promoting, disciplining and terminating employment as appropriate and in accordance with Human Resources policies and procedures. 
    • Establishes and implements an ongoing program of orientation and ongoing training for personnel assigned to the Plant Operations/EVS Department.
    • Maintains services in accordance with the established hospital, federal, state, and local standards and regulations. Ensures that all requirements for building, plant, and grounds safety are maintained with documentation of routine inspections in accordance with standards.  Ensures that all required inspections and certifications by local agencies are maintained.
    • Establishes and maintains a Quality Control Program and a Preventive Maintenance Program.
    • Establishes and maintains a system for the immediate inspection and repair of equipment.
    • Establishes and maintains an ongoing inspection program focusing on fire and life safety management. Provides regular testing of the fire safety plan with documented fire drills.  Maintains records of all the fire and life safety inspection by local authorities with immediate correction of any problems and reporting of activities to the Safety Committee for follow-up as needed.
    • Assumes responsibility for all departmental equipment and supply purchasing.
    • Actively participates in all hospital committees which impact on the Plant Operations/EVS Department with specific responsibility on the Safety and Infection Control Committees.
