     We are currently seeking an experienced Infection Prevention Coordinator (CIC) to  coordinate the Infection Control Program  on a hospital -wide basis. This includes frequent travel to our local hospital campuses and outpatient therapy facilities throughout the region.  



    Overview of Select Medical Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospitals


    Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation provides advanced treatment and comprehensive care to best address the medical, physical, emotional and vocational challenges for individuals with:

    An Infection Prevention Coordinator coordinates the Infection Control Program in accordance with the guidelines and regulatory requirements of the Center for Disease Control, Federal and State regulations on a hospital -wide basis. Develops and implements programs to promote prevention and control of infections. reviews policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all regulatory and accrediting standards. Reviews clinical practice and works with staff to find the best strategies or solutions as needed. Collects data to monitor compliance and or trends.


     Specific responsibilities of the Infection Control Nurse include: 


            Conducting on-going surveillance

    • Collecting and interpreting data to determine specific problem areas
    • Conducting analysis of data to include risk assessment, prevention and control strategies
    • Compiling and interpreting surveillance reports to the Infection Control Committee and hospital staff
    • Directing investigations of clusters/outbreaks of hospital
    • Maintaining timely and proper documentation
    • Serving as a resource to all hospital staff on all issues related to infection control and employee health.

    Other requirements of the Infection Control Nurse role include: 

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field required
    • CIC Certification preferred
    • Previous experience in hospital Infection Control/Prevention required,including previous experience with DHSS and Joint Commission 
    • Positive, caring and customer-service oriented attitude
