    At California Rehabilitation Institute our services have been designed for patients who need a longer rehabilitation hospitalization for their recovery. We are currently seeking a Clinical Liaison to join our team.

    An outstanding opportunity is currently available for a qualified and experienced individual to join our Business Development/Marketing Department. In this highly visible, challenging and rewarding position, you will assume a leadership role, developing and nurturing professional relationships with discharge planners, physicians and clinicians in acute care hospitals; educating staff, patients and families regarding rehabilitation services provided by our Rehabilitation Hospitals. In addition, you will assess patients with rehab diagnosis, on-site at referring hospitals for admission to the Rehabilitation Hospital and manage the referral process.


    Position Summary

    Initiates and develops professional relationships with current and potential referral sources and patients in acute care hospitals or with other healthcare providers to grow and build business. Educates patients, families, physicians and clinicians on rehabilitation services. Facilitates patients' admission into the rehabilitation hospital. Achieves quantifiable objectives set by hospital management. 

    • Assesses a patient’s eligibility for and feasibility of rehabilitation services in consultation with the patient and their family members, treating physicians, clinicians and case managers. Reviews and analyzes medical records and history that are key to a determination of suitability for rehabilitative services. 
    • Prepares and completes a detailed preadmission assessment timely, thoroughly and meets all regulatory requirements. Documentation reflects critical thinking and rationale for admission inclusive of medical necessity and projective rehabilitation needs. 
    • Coordinates a safe transition of care through the collaboration and communication with admission staff, clinical staff and hospital personnel as appropriate. Communicates special needs, equipment and/ or medication so it is readily available upon arrival of patient. Communicates with tact and demonstrates effective problem solving skills 
    • Works with Admission Department (and/or acute care hospital personnel) to secure insurance authorization and/or coordination of benefits necessary to be admitted. Develops professional relationships with insurance case managers as appropriate. 
    • Provides consultative services to physicians, case managers, therapists and other staff regarding suitable rehabilitative services. 
    • Acts as the on-site expert and advocate for our rehabilitation services and programs. Provides informal and formal education to patients, family members, hospital personnel and community. 
    • Works with the AVP/Director of Business Development to create and support sales and marketing initiatives. Completes the Business Development Operational Tool to monitor and manage referrals/admissions/denials and develop appropriate marketing initiatives designed to grow market share. 
    • Is accountable to and works to develop professional relationships, promote rehabilitation services and drive business from assigned hospitals. Continually strives to improve processes by regularly identifying improvements. Supports team members in field. 
    • Develops and maintains professional credibility. Gains mutual respect and builds confidence throughout assigned hospitals. 
    • Performs other related projects and duties as assigned. 


    Minimum Education & Experience (Including Licenses)

    • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Speech Language Pathologist.
    • Demonstrated familiarity with hospital admissions procedures.
    • Proven track record in sales and marketing with a least one year experience in a related position preferred.
