As a Human Resources Manager ( HRM ), you will manage all aspects of the Human Resources Department in coordination with the Regional Human Resources Director and the Corporate Human Resources/Payroll Department.


 Other requirements of the Human Resources Manager role include: 

  • Serving as a resource to employees, coordinators and managers at the local level and at other facilities
  • Taking initiative to not only identify problems, but to bring about a positive and sustainable solution using strategic and analytical skills
  • Supporting  Select Medical’s compensation program and maintaining hospital wage and salary records
  • In the absence of the Regional HR Director, assisting compensation with salary offers and answering questions pertaining to the compensation review process and performance evaluations
  • Working through and resolving complex employee relations concerns to ensure concurrence with our core values, while mitigating liability
  • Assisting the Regional HR Director and/or Corporate HR in the investigation or resolution of 1st level employee relations issues
  • Ensuring retention strategies are developed and implemented
  • Being responsible for coaching, mentoring and orienting HRCs within assigned geographic areas to encourage performance enhancement, consistency, and continual development in all functional areas and scope of responsibility
  • Leading employee safety campaign and helping to build a culture of safety
  • Supporting the hospitals’ philosophy regarding staff communication
  • Participating in the interdisciplinary team concept; attending staff meetings; updating Administrator/CEO on information pertinent to executive management meetings
  • Working with Administrator/CEO to implement strategies designed to improve staff retention
  • Providing services that include applicant sourcing and recruiting, employee orientation
  • Ensuring confidentiality and professionalism is maintained when dealing with sensitive and confidential information
  • Actively participating in the JCAHO/Medicare or other surveys acting as the representative for Human Resources
  • Coordinating competency reviews and required clinical education compliance
  • Active involvement in all aspects of the recruitment process and aligns recruitment initiatives with a positive candidate experience

Other requirements of the HRM role include:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3 years of experience in a generalist role, including payroll
  • Strong, sound knowledge of the Select HR function in order to be that strategic HR partner to the CEO and others at their hospital
  • Expertise in all aspects of their own job with 100% compliance in all functional areas at assigned location
  • Assists and mentor others.
  • Positive, caring and customer-service-oriented attitude
  • Bi-lingual, Spanish preferred.
