Physical Therapist (PT) - Oncology Resident

Outpatient

 

Hours: Full Time

 

Compensation depends upon candidate’s years of experience and internal equity.

 Starting Salary: $80,080

 

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation is seeking a passionate, driven physical therapist looking to pursue a specialization in oncologic rehabilitation.

 

The BSWIR Oncology Residency Program is a multi-site residency program with sites located at the Sammons Cancer Center in Dallas, TX, and outpatient clinics in McKinney, TX and Grapevine, TX. The mentoring faculty includes five (5) Board-Certified Clinical Specialists in Oncologic Physical Therapy. Our resident(s) receive direct 1:1 mentoring in the acute care, in-patient rehabilitation, and outpatient settings throughout the course of the residency program. Candidates must possess excellent communication skills, compentency with examination and treatment procedures, strong skills in scientific inquiry and writing, and psychological and social stability required for successful completion of the program.

 

Application deadline: September 1st - December 15th, 2026. Interviews will take place in January with offers going out the following week. Residency runs from August 2027 - October 2028.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain open and respectful communication with all parties
  • Understand and adhere to state practice acts and laws governing PTs
  • Complete and maintain required trainings
  • Maintain compliance with government regulations
  • Evaluate, treat and direct treatment for patients

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of those educational requirements as mandated for state licensure or eligibility for a license in Physical Therapy
  • Current State licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of practice
  • CPR certification required
