Responsibilities

There is an immediate opening for a dynamic, committed full-time recreation therapist for the outpatient Day Neuro and SCI Max Programs at Baylor Scott and White Institute for Rehabilitation, Dallas. We serve adults with acquired brain injuries and spinal cord injuries in an outpatient setting. The recreation therapist works in a team environment with a physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist, and neuropsychologist to create a comprehensive rehabilitation program to meet the individual needs of the patient and family.


The successful applicant will have experience working with adults with acquired brain injury/spinal cord injury; will have understanding of impact of brain injury and spinal cord injury on participation in leisure activities; will be able to create individualized treatment plans targeting return to leisure and community reintegration; and will demonstrate personal characteristics of creativity and flexibility.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Baccalaureate Degree in Therapeutic Recreation required.
  2. Current national certification from NCTRC as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) required.
  3. Should have certified experience in a medical setting.
