Position: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

Setting: Acute Care (Inpatient)
Location: HealthWorks / MonHealth – Morgantown, WV
Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shift with Weekend & Holiday Rotations

 


 

HealthWorks, in partnership with MonHealth, is seeking a full-time, West Virginia–licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to join our inpatient acute care team at our 188-bed hospital in Morgantown, WV. Immediate hire available. Previous acute care experience is preferred, but new graduate PTAs are encouraged to apply. You can start on a temporary WV PTA license.

 

 

This is an excellent opportunity to join a large, collaborative, multidisciplinary team and work with adult and geriatric populations in a fast-paced acute care environment.

 


Position Highlights

  • Treat adult and geriatric patients in an inpatient acute care setting
  • Collaborate with therapists, physicians, and interdisciplinary staff
  • Assist with patient evaluation, treatment implementation, and discharge planning
  • Full-time role 40 hours per week

Schedule Details

  • Typical schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Weekend and holiday coverage required on a rotating basis
  • The facility operates daily, excluding Christmas

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for patient care under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist as mandated by State Practice Act.
  • Implement, with minimal supervision, high quality physical therapy services for patients, caregivers and facilities in accordance with the principals and practices of physical therapy and with Select Medical policies and procedures
  • Maintain positive level of interaction with centers and patients, and enhance and expand client relations with centers and their staff.

Qualifications

  • College graduate of an accredited physical therapist assistant program
  • Passed a national examination for PTAs certified by the CAPTE
  • Valid state physical therapist assistant (PTA) license (or license in process)
  • CPR certification
