Responsibilities

The Licensure Applicant Occupational Therapist (OT), under the direct supervision of a Licensed Occupational Therapist, evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements and modifies treatment plan in accordance with the patient’s needs and physician direction. The Licensure Applicant OT is responsible for delegation and direction of all discipline specific therapy services for assigned patients. The Licensure Applicant OT ensures design of functional treatment programs allowing for effective return to community activities and serves as an educator of patients, families, students, coworkers and self. The Licensure Applicant OT also performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient and the development of discipline specific therapy services and design of program delivery.

 

  • Demonstrates the ability to identify and understand the perceived needs of others and communicates empathetically in addressing the concerns and needs of patients and others around them
  • Under the direct supervision of a Licensed Occupational Therapist, completes a comprehensive evaluation of assigned patients. Utilizes clinical reasoning to develop appropriate treatment plan and goals focused on progressing patients toward discharge within an established length of stay.
  • Under the direct supervision of a Licensed Occupational Therapist, collaborates with interdisciplinary team to address all barriers to discharge. This includes, if warranted, timely equipment trialing and completion of all patient and family training including issuing of a home exercise program, and planning for continuing services.
  • In collaboration with the supervising Occupational therapist, demonstrates flexibility in all aspects of caseload management including accepting coverage, ensuring that the plan of care is communicated, implemented and progressed throughout the length of stay. Effectively and efficiently manages individual, concurrent, co-treatment, and group treatment sessions based on patient care needs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Must hold a valid and current Temporary License/ Licensure Applicant License/Limited License/Provisional License status with practicing state.
  • Must meet and adhere to practicing state standards for practice as a Limited/Temporary/Provisional/Licensure Applicant clinician
  • Certified BLS or completion in the first 90 days of employment is required.
