Recreational Therapist PRN - Day Neuro

 

PRN Rate: $27/hr

Responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate PRN Recreational Therapist to work on a multidisciplinary team in the Day Neuro Clinic. Program focuses on return to highest level of independence possible in leisure and avocational activities as well as community reintegration for patients with acquired brain injuries. Looking for candidates who have strengths or particular interest in community re-integration, adaptive sports, expressive arts & local community resources.  Patients are treated as part of a multidisciplinary team, six hours a day, Monday through Friday. Cognitive rehab, SCI, TBI and CVA experience preferred  Looking for candidates who are creative, innovative and work well on a team.

 

Key Responsibilities:


• Plan, develop, and implement recreational therapy programs tailored to patients’ physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs.
• Conduct patient assessments and create individualized treatment plans to support rehabilitation goals.
• Utilize a variety of therapeutic activities, including arts, music, games, exercise, and community outings, to promote functional improvement.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists.
• Educate patients and families on the benefits of recreational therapy and provide strategies for continued engagement post-discharge.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and participate in team meetings to discuss care plans.
• Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with facility policies and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

Qualifications:


• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Recreational Therapy or a related field.


• Current national certification from NCTRC as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)


• Skills: Strong communication, teamwork, and adaptability to work with diverse patient populations.


• Schedule: Must be available for weekend shifts; flexibility to pick up weekday shifts is a plus.
