Overview

The Clinical Director provides visionary and operational leadership for therapy and clinical services across Neuro Transitional Centers, ensuring exceptional patient care and full compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, including CARF. This role directs day-to-day clinical operations, driving adherence to policies and procedures while championing continuous improvement in care delivery.

 

As a strategic leader, the Clinical Director designs and implements clinical protocols, documentation standards, and workflow processes that support high-quality neuro-rehabilitation programs. The position also spearheads initiatives to integrate advanced therapeutic technologies, enhancing both patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

 

Through mentorship, collaboration, and expert guidance, the Clinical Director fosters professional growth among clinical teams and promotes best practices across all centers. Accountable for key performance objectives—including clinical quality, patient satisfaction, financial stewardship, and employee engagement—this role ensures consistency, innovation, and excellence throughout the organization.

 

 

Responsibilities

Operational Leadership & Compliance

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of Neuro Transitional Centers, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review, update, and enforce policies and procedures to maintain compliance with CARF International accreditation standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with hospitals and internal teams to prepare for CARF accreditation surveys and ensure successful outcomes.

Quality & Performance Management

  • Monitor key performance indicators across all Neuro Transitional Centers and provide regular updates to divisional leadership.
  • Lead performance improvement initiatives focused on processes, workflows, and program implementation.
  • Develop and implement mechanisms to ensure uniform delivery of Neuro Transitional Rehab services and processes across all centers.
  • Drive integration of advanced therapeutic technologies to enhance service delivery.

Program Development & Integration

  • Participate in the design and implementation of documentation standards, workflows, and program initiatives.
  • Facilitate support for new center openings, serving as the Neuro Transitional representative throughout the launch process.
  • Ensure that Neuro Transitional services are fully integrated into the overall care delivery model to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Leadership Development & Staffing

  • Assist with recruitment for leadership, clinical, and therapy roles, including job description development and candidate interviews.
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide ongoing guidance to new leaders to ensure effective team management and goal achievement.
  • Facilitate onboarding and training for Neuro Transitional leadership, ensuring adequate orientation and continuous support.

Risk Management & Investigations

  • Conduct investigations into incidents or complaints, including documentation review, staff/patient interviews, and recommendations for corrective action.
  • Identify operational improvement opportunities through onsite visits and implement corrective measures as needed.

Qualifications

  • Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech Therapist, or Registered Nurse is required.
  • Master's degree or higher preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree for therapists, or a BSN for RNs required.
  • Three or more years of experience in a senior management or director role are required. Five or more years of experience in senior management preferred.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience supporting multiple inpatient rehabilitation hospitals required, with three of these years of experience with new hospital openings needed.
  • Certified BLS required within 90 days of hire or promotion through the American Heart Association.
  • Certified State Driver's License in good standing.
