Responsibilities

The Assistant Residential Manager works in conjunction with the Rehab Residential Manager to ensure that patients in the Neuro Transitional Center receive the highest quality care. This position assists the Manager with operational duties, both administrative and clinical. This position also provides direct patient care and medical management coordination in accordance with the facility's policies, procedures and treatment model.

 

Job Duties:

  • Assists the Residential Manager with ensuring that the residential facility operates in compliance with HHSC ALF Licensure, CARF and other regulatory/accreditation organizations, including assisting with creating procedures to ensure adherence.
  • Manages medical documentation ensuring completeness, timeliness and accuracy. Conducts weekly MAR audits, verification of medication administration records and input of orders into EHR.
  • Addresses patient direct care and PRN medical issues to assure continued patient medical stability.
  • Communicates with On Call and/or physicians/office nurse, as needed. Ensures communication of pertinent information including specific concerns regarding patient safety or health to the treatment team in a timely manner. Ensure residential communication books are up to date.
  • Responsible for emergency drills, including tracking, requesting, ensuring completion and issuing feedback. Responds to emergency situations and completes required documentation
  • Assists the Residential Manager with the oversight of clinical and regulatory compliance orientation, training, supervision, and ongoing education and competency assessments of residential direct care staff across the delivery sites and in the community. Key treatment model components include: supervision and assistant levels, environmental modifications, communication, treatment documentation, following patient daily activity plans and overall treatment plan goals, shift reporting
  • Participates in required meetings as needed including patient staffing, family conferences, admissions, EOC, residential meetings and other meetings as needed.
  • Identify, investigate, and problem solve incident report issues, as assigned.
  • Ensure adequate medical supplies are in stock–follow up with inventory and quality of supplies.
  • Participates in on-call rotation to provide support to staff after hours and on weekends.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

  • Valid local state RN License required, other disciplines may be considered; PT/OT/SLP
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
  • Valid local state Driver's License in good standing required.
  • CRRN preffered
  • Knowledge of staffing patterns/ratios preferred.
  • Two years of supervisory experience in assisted living or rehabilitation environment preferred; experience with brain injury population preferred. 
  • Demonstrated ability to delegate and problem solve effectively required.
