Position: Sports Resident Physical Therapist 

Location: 511 N Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123

Schedule: Weekdays, Some Weekends for athletic coverage

Compensation: $52,000/Yr

NovaCare Rehabilitation is the preferred provider of physical therapy and athletic training services for Temple University athletics as well as many other partners in the Philadelphia region.

 

NovaCare Rehabilitation is now accepting applicants for a full-time Physical Therapist for our Sports Physical Therapy Residency program. 

This 12 month ABPTRFE accredited sports residency program includes a combination of mentored and independent clinical hours in the Temple University Olympic sports and Football training rooms as well as our Spring Garden NovaCare outpatient clinic. Additional professional experiences with the Philadelphia Phillies and other select partners are included within this program. This experience also includes a combination of sports and orthopedic specific didactic course work and in person labs. Utilizing NovaCare’s relationships with local sports teams and treating physicians the resident will also complete interdisciplinary shadowing, and over 200 on field hours. For the duration of this program, as long as the resident remains in good standing within the program, the resident will be considered a full time employee of NovaCare and will be eligible for full time benefits. We accept one resident per calendar year. We are inviting applicants to apply by December 1st for a July start.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities and Duties will include:

  • Complete and maintain all corporate and clinical services required training and maintain compliance with state/local/federal regulations
  • Evaluate, treat, direct, and document treatment for patients
  • Maintain open and respectful communication with colleagues, physicians, patients, family members and third-party payors
  • Attend/participate in center meetings as directed by the center manager
  • Performs assessment, rehabilitation and treatment for athletes and patients.
  • Coordinates rehabilitation of injuries and surgical cases with the staff athletic trainers and team physicians. 

  • Completes accurate and timely electronic documentation of services in accordance with professional and compliance standards.
  • Maintains PA State Licensure through the PA PTAT Board for physical therapy.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral Degree (DPT) in Physical Therapy from an APTA Accredited University is REQUIRED.
  • Licensed, or immediately eligible to be licensed, with the PA Physical Therapy.
  • Current CPR/AED/First Aid certifications.
