Salary range: $82,000-$100,000 annually depending on years of experience 

 

Location: 1199 Pleasant Valley Way West Orange, NJ

Responsibilities

 

Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist (Wheelchair Services) include:

  • Our renowned wheelchair services include a huge range of wheelchair technology and expertise at our West Orange, NJ campus. For six decades, Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation has pioneered the course of physical medicine and rehabilitation. Occupational Therapist who possess highly specialized knowledge base and skills in the area of wheelchair seating and mobility to facilitate patient treatment, staff and program development at our fast growing Wheelchair Outpatient Services! Bachelor's Degree as an OTR, valid NJ licensure, OT experience and advance certification as a RESNA - credentialed Assistive Technology Practitioner (ATP) preferred.

  • Seeking an Occupational Therapist for our outpatient department within a hospital setting.
  • This position will treat primarily the neurological population and a mix of Ortho.
  • Performs comprehensive evaluations, develops and appropriately progresses individualized treatment plans for the cognitive population
  • Performs clinical care management in cognitive rehabilitation to promote growth of program services.
  • Possesses a highly specialized knowledge base and skills to facilitate patient treatment and staff development. 
  • Provides thorough education to patients and caregivers in a manner they can understand, and plans appropriately for discharge when medical necessity no longer indicates skilled therapeutic care.
  • Participates in departmental initiatives and demonstrates effective communication with all rehab team members.
  • Facilitates professional growth, development and overall improvement of departmental performance.
  • Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, development of discipline-specific therapy services, and design of program delivery

 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of occupational therapy.
  • Valid New Jersey State Occupational Therapy License/ Registration REQUIRED to start.
  • Prior experience in outpatient orthopedics preferred; entry level/New Grad acceptable
