Location: Wilmington, DE (Goldey Beacom College)

Type of Employment: Full-time

Schedule: Weekdays/Weekends, Hours vary 

Compensation: Starting at $48,000/Yr, commensurate with experience

 

NovaCare Rehabilitation is actively seeking a passionate, driven Strength and Conditioning Specialist to join our team! In this role, you will be working at Goldey Beacom College to support and develop the Goldey Beacom College Athletics through individual and team programs.

This is a great opportunity to work in the D-II collegiate setting with an outstanding Sports Medicine Team made up of Athletic Trainers, Sports Physical Therapists and a Sports Medicine Physician on-site. The team environment will provide you additional resources that you will need to be successful in this role. This position has the opportunity to impact the entire Athletic Program - 14 varsity sports in all.

Responsibilities

• Manage fitness files and do orientation for new athletes/staff.
• Supervise fitness facility and associate areas.
• Ensure safety measures are in place and safety education/practices are enforced.
• Keep all records secured and instituted, such as daily sign-in, fitness charts, team conditioning regimes & schedules, etc.
• Develop strength and conditioning programs for athletes, non-athletes, coaches, teams, and institute staff.
• Ensure continuous, consistent care with the athletic trainer and other medical providers associated with the facility.
• Maintain disinfectant spray bottles in the gym for athletes.
• Secure facility at the end of the day.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree required – preferably in sports medicine or exercise science
  • Certification as a Strength & Conditioning Specialist or close to completion
  • NASM-CSCS Certified (Certification as a Strength & Conditioning Specialist )
  • CPR/AED 

Preferred:

  • Prior collegiate experience
  • Masters Degree in related field/coursework
