Schedule: Full Time
Compensation:
salary starting at $46,000 + depending on years of experience

Shift: Monday - Friday with rotating weekends

  • Minimum of three years experience in all phases of housekeeping required
  • Demonstrated knowledge with hospital procedures required

Responsibilities

The Environmental Services Supervisor assists and directs the Environmental Services Techs in cleaning and maintaining patient rooms, offices and public areas.

  • Selects qualified candidates who fit the culture and have the most potential to contribute to accomplishment of established
    objectives.
  • Ensures that direct reports have received upon hire and continue to receive throughout employment the training, information and support to accomplish departmental objectives and meet job requirements.
  • Provides regular and accurate performance feedback to direct reports with focus on results, skill expansion, process improvement and learning.
  • Ensures success of department operations through building employee engagement, effective talent assessment, continual learning and development, cross-training and succession planning.
  • Identifies and initiates own professional growth through continued learning, self-study and involvement in professional activities and organizations.
  • Regularly performs all of the duties of an Environmental Services Tech.
    a. Cleans and checks assigned areas by washing furnishings, floors, and equipment with special cleaning solutions and disinfectants to prevent the spread of disease.
    b. Keeps floors clean and safe by dust mopping and wet mopping as necessary.
    c. Cleans spills in patient and non patient areas as necessary.
    d. Cleans and polishes all metal; washes walls and beds as necessary.
    e. Scours, sanitizes, and polishes tubs, sinks, mirrors, toilets, urinals and similar equipment; replenishes supplies of soap, towels and other disposable items.
  • Under the direction of the Environmental Services Manager, plans and directs the work of all Environmental Services Techs.
    a. Checks completion of work in order to ensure the hospital is in a clean and sanitary condition.
    b. Instructs new employees in job routine and expectations.
    c. Maintains necessary records and reports as to quantity, quality and timeliness of work done in the department.
  • Controls and audits laundry and linens to ensure that there is an adequate supply.
  • Keeps informed on developments and trends inside and outside the organization with relate to assigned functions.
  • Maintains current code and regularly compliance documentation related to the Regulated Medical Waste storage handling and disposal.
  • Provides supervision of employees ensuring that job duties and functions are performed to departmental and industry standards. Maintains materials, equipment and storage areas in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years experience in all phases of housekeeping required
  • Demonstrated knowledge with hospital procedures required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous supervisory or senior level experience preferred
