The Lead Systems Engineer is primarily responsible for overseeing the design, installation, and maintenance of our Infrastructure environment that stretches multiple datacenters. All in accordance with the best practices/validated designs and technology direction of Select Medical.  The lead will be responsible for overseeing projects and activities related to the Infrastructure environment as well as working with the vendors to make sure we are in compliance and running within validated designs. This individual will collaborate on multiple projects and technologies, working with team members within the IT organization as well as other internal business units and external customers/partners

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, develop, evaluate, test, and integrate VMware, M365, Cloud, and Linux infrastructures to meet organizational needs
  • Implement and design multiple VMware, M365, Cloud, and Linux solutions for various projects and technologies
  • Collaborate with team members within the IT organization and other internal business units on VMware, M365, Cloud, and Linux related projects and technologies
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for infrastructure systems and configurations
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to VMware, M365, Cloud, and Linux infrastructures
  • Participate in project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring timely and within-budget completion of tasks
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and emerging threats, applying this knowledge to improve infrastructure management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor others.
  • 5+ years’ experience.
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills a must. Ability to read, write, and speak in a professional manner.
  • Possesses strong continuous improvement, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess an appropriate sense of urgency, responsibility, promptness, and professionalism.
  • Able to work extended hours or weekends as needed, and respond to urgent needs during off-hours periods. Open to occasional travel.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and adapt to changing business priorities.
  • Superior customer service skills.
  • Experience with medium scale datacenter supporting multi-site operations a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft productivity applications, and highly proficient in creating quality documentation using Microsoft Office products, including Visio.
  • PC Hardware and peripheral experience.
  • Healthcare experience a plus.
