Seeking a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist with specialized experience in wound care to join our multidisciplinary team. This role plays a vital part in promoting skin integrity, preventing complications and accelerating healing for patients with complex wounds. At least 1-2 years of clinical experience in wound care and with wound vac (negative pressure wound therapy) management is strongly preferred.
Evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements and modifies treatment plan in accordance with the patient’s need and physician direction. Responsible for delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for those assigned patients. Ensures the design of functional treatment programs allowing for an effective return to community activities. Serves as an educator of patients, families, students, co-workers and self. Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, development of discipline-specific therapy services and design of program delivery.
• Conduct comprehensive wound assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
• Administer advanced wound care interventions, including selective debridement, dressing application and negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT/wound vac)
• Educate patients and caregivers on wound care techniques, skin protection and preventative strategies
• Collaborate closely with nursing and physicians, including educational opportunities with staff
• Participate in wound care rounds, performance improvement activities and documentation audits
• Stay current with evidence-based practices and continuing education in wound care and physical therapy
