Overview

Position: Injury Prevention Specialist Instructor - Salt Lake City

Location: 3920 W. Terminal Dr. Salt Lake City, Utah 84122   

Schedule: Variable, some weekend and evening shifts may be required. 

Compensation: Commensurate with experience

 

Select Medical in Salt Lake City, Utah, is currently seeking one FULL time employee to join our on-site staff in an industrial setting. Our employer partner is expanding its on-site ergonomic instruction program at the Salt Lake City International Airport. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or Athletic Training to join our dynamic team. We are looking for an energetic individual who enjoys movement/ergonomic coaching and has a passion for educating employees in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Exercise and/or medical professional to serve as instructor to deliver & oversee small group movement training to airline employees & baggage handlers
• Deliver routine worksite employee ergonomic movement coaching and engagement
• Lead injury prevention programs and activities
• Provide and sustain a strong and positive presence amongst employees and leaders
• Provide upbeat & engaging learning moments for employees
• Ability to work with local leaders, safety managers, and divisional ergonomics leaders to carry out special projects as needed
• Documentation & analysis of data, including station training counts, and on-site job coaching
• Work with safety leaders to analyze ergonomic injury trends and learning opportunities
• Occasional weekends needed to engage with the weekend workforce
• Occasional travel opportunities to support system training and instructor learning

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or Athletic Training
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, including but not limited to, providing education, training, movement coaching, ergonomics, or athletic training
• Must hold & maintain current medical licensure (if applicable)
• Excellent oral communication skills
• Current CPR Certification CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, BLS Healthcare Provider, or equivalent certification
• Advanced certifications in ergonomics, such as CEAS or equivalent, functional movement screening, personal training, or CSCS are a plus
