PPS Coordinator - Per Diem

Pay Rate: $65.00

 

Position Summary

 

Coordinates the data collection on the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Patient Assessment Instrument (IRF-PAI), ensures the presence of supporting documentation, and provides staff education to ensure compliance with CMS guidelines. Coordinates all efforts for immediate issue resolution concerning Section GG scoring. Conducts ongoing review of IRF-PAI related data, and assists the PPS Manager with IRF-PAI completion.

  • Collaborates with the PPS Manager in conducting audits, reviews, and preparation of reports as assigned. 
  • Assists the PPS Manager with PPS functions including and not limited to: IRF PAI data collection, medical coding, IRF PAI transmittals and corrections.
  • Provides coverage for PPS in the absence of the PPS Manager.
  • Participates in PPS related committees and meetings as assigned.
  • Coordinates all areas of supportive documentation for the completion of Inpatient Rehabiliation Faciity Patient Assessment Instrument (IRF-PAI)
  • Provides Initial ongoing education to staff related to the IRF PAI documentation including new-employee ortientation and focused education as needed.
  • Reviews medical records to assure that clinicical documentation supports the IRF PAI assessment. 
  • Confers with the clinical ream members regarding scoring of IRF PAI items follows upup and resolves any inconsistencies, and, when necessary assess the patient to confirm the correct score.
  • Reviews Medical records to and confers with medical staff members to assure that co-morbidities are properly identified and documented in the medical record.
  • Reviews Rehabiliation Impairment Categories and admissison ICD-10 codes to assure congruences and proper Coding for the IRF PAI. Make any necessary changes in collaboration with the clinical team and physician.
  • Works directly with any clinical departments to focus on documentation trends and corrective action to assure that the medical records documents supports the IRF PAI.
  • Performs other duties as requested. 

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current state licensure in nursing (RN) or allied health professional license
  • Minimum of two years experience in rehabilitation or a closely related field required

 

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with ICD 10 coding preferred
  • Experience with IRF-PPS preferred
