The Department of Psychology at Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation at Frisco has an immediate opening for a Licensed Psychologist to join our team of psychologists and counselors.

 

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a rehabilitation setting as part of an interdisciplinary team, which includes rehabilitation physicians, nurses, therapists, and other clinical staff. This position will assist in covering our inpatient rehabilitation program as well as our post-acute outpatient day treatment program for patients with brain injury, stroke, and spinal cord injury.

 

Job responsibilities will include both assessment and intervention services, including brief bedside cognitive assessment as well as full neuropsychological evaluations. Consultation with physicians and other members of the interdisciplinary team will be a regular aspect of this role, as well as education for patients and families. There will be opportunities to participate in program development, as well as clinically-based research. 

 

Our inpatient and day treatment programs are CARF accredited with specialization in brain injury, and our inpatient hospital holds certification from The Joint Commission in Stroke Rehabilitation. Our department consists of 1 full-time psychologist, 1 psychometrist, and 3 licensed professional counselors, and our hospital is part of the BSWIR system that includes DFW and Central Texas. Our Frisco inpatient program serves a diverse group of patients with CVA, TBI, SCI, amputation, LVAD, and medically-complex presentations, while our day treatment program serves patients post acquired brain injury as well as spinal cord injury with a focus on return to work, school, and driving.

Qualifications

 

    • PhD or PsyD from an APA/CPA approved program in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology or Health Psychology
    • Completion of an APA accredited internship
    • Completion of a postdoctoral fellowship with emphasis in Rehabilitation Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology
    • Experience in neuropyschological assessment within a rehabilitation setting preferred
    • Knowledge of cognitive rehabilitation techniques and interventions highly desirable
    • Early career psychologists encouraged to apply 
    • Licensed or license eligible in the state of Texas
