Payroll Tax Specialist

Full Time / On-Site

Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

 

Salary: 42K to 45K, depending on experience

The Payroll Tax Specialist is responsible for the preparation and processing of state and local tax payments/returns in compliance with the law. 

The position works closely with Corporate and Field Human Resource Coordinators, Corporate and Field Payroll Representatives, Corporate Finance and Corporate Accounting departments. 

Responsibilities

  • Generate necessary Oracle summary and detail reports to file state and/or local payroll tax withholding payments.
  • Submit request for payments, with proper approval for tax filing/deposits.
  • Create and update state and local spreadsheets with payment information for use in monthly/quarterly/annual reconciliations.
  • Complete state and local registration forms for government reporting entities as needed.
  • Shared responsibility of quarter end/year end state and local reconciliation procedures.
  • Perform necessary system maintenance (i.e. balance adjustments) as needed.
  • Scan all state and local tax payments into Perceptive Content (imaging program) and link document type to appropriate drawer.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by handling payroll tax inquiries, requests, and concerns via phone, email or written communication.
  • Assist with miscellaneous Payroll Tax related projects.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Microsoft Word and Excel knowledge required
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Must be detailed oriented
  • Previous experience in multi-state payroll tax a plus
  • Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
