We are looking for an advanced clinical psychology / neuropsychology graduate student who has already completed basic coursework in psychological assessment. 

 

12 hours per week

1 full day/ 1 half day

SSM Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Bridgeton, Missouri is seeking a Per Diem Psychometrist to join our amazing team!!

 

The Psychologists of SSM Health Rehabilitation Hospital provide care for persons after stroke, traumatic brain injury, neurosurgery, and many other conditions affecting cognition, mood, and behavior, as well as independent functioning.  Our primary goals are to help patients and families understand and adjust to their injury or illness, and to help the teams in their efforts to make the greatest progress possible with our patients in their rehabilitation therapies.

 

The position requires you to administer and score standardized neuropsychological measures with outpatients, and assist with admission neurobehavioral exams with inpatients.

Responsibilities

Responsibilties:

  • Report to the Director on Clinical Psychology / Neuropsychology and work case-by-case under the direct supervision of one of the Clinical Neuropsychologists.
  • Administer and score standardized neuropsychological measures with outpatients, and assist with admission neurobehavioral exams with inpatients.
  • Direct patient care 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Experience with administration and scoring of neuropsychological measures
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Attention to patients' needs and concerns while remaining mindful of the requirements for standardization
  • Skill with behavioral observations
  • The ability to work quickly to support the goal of rapid turn-around of results to referring physicians
  • The ability to learn to efficiently read from and write to the EHR
  • Attention to detail / double checking scoring accuracy
  • The position is for an advanced clinical psychology / neuropsychology graduate student who has already completed basic coursework in psychological assessment

Additional Data

The average time worked per week is 12 hours, usually.  We require a schedule that includes one full day per week in order to allow for testing and scoring of an outpatient assessment, plus one shorter day per week for assisting with inpatient admission assessments.

 

Our neuropsychological assessment service receives referrals primarily from neurologists and neurosurgeons (especially those associated with SSM Health Neuroscience Institute), so we work with patients for whom our assessment services are essential to their care.
