The Clinical Informatics Analyst is responsible for the planning, training, implementation, evaluation, support and optimization of clinical informatics projects under the direction of the Sr Director, Informatics & IS Partnerships and the Vice President, Hospital Strategy. They serve as an interface between Clinical Services, Quality Management, Health Information Management, and Information Technology to ensure interdisciplinary project coordination and successful adoption of technology solutions.

 

The Clinical Informatics Analyst participates in communications and project planning regarding EMR and clinical system implementations, maintenance, and support. They are knowledgeable about clinical processes and practices, relevant regulatory mandates, and principles of quality/safety improvement. They assist with requirements, testing, and implementing system changes in support of clinical quality, financial, and operational goals.

Responsibilities

 

  • Utilizes data to drive process, workflow and behavior change with clinical end-users clinicians/providers as it relates to appropriate and most efficient use of the EMR and other clinical technology.
  • Uses the EMR to contribute to the design and conduct of evidence-based practice and quality improvement activities to support high reliability.
  • Evaluates necessary changes in workflow or practice related to technology use.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to evaluate, prioritize, and implement enhancement opportunities noted.
  • Works with hospitals, service center, and corporate leadership to assess technology needs related to the EMR.
  • Collaborates with operational leadership and the IS team to coordinate system changes in support of optimized workflows.
  • Supports regulatory compliance efforts and patient privacy.
  • Identifies and streamlines processes where possible to increase efficiency and / or decrease costs.
  • Takes call as needed to support EMR and other IS technologies when local resources have exceeded their content expertise.
  • Manages projects effectively to achieve identified objectives and expected outcomes.
  • Works from home office with occasional travel to Corporate Office and all hospital locations as needed to support job duties.
  • Demonstrates ability to be self-directed with excellent organization, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Limits access to protected health information (PHI) to the information reasonably necessary to do the job and share such information only on a need to know basis for work purposes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • BS or BA or equivalent education and experience
  • 3 or more years IS experience
  • 3 or more years project experience
  • 3 or more years clinical healthcare experience
  • Superior teamwork and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills commensurate with a professional working environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated passion for delivering exemplary customer service and quality
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and adapt to changing business priorities
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
